Call for donations to support Bat Yam
Many people in Bat Yam are looking to the future with concern and sadness. Numerous homes were destroyed in the devastating rocket attack from Iran in June this year. Many families have lost their homes, their possessions, and their security. As a lodge, we have the opportunity—and also the responsibility—to show our solidarity. We are therefore calling for donations to support a specific project run by our lodge in Bat Yam.
This includes reconstruction, medical care, and support for survivors. It is about more than just bricks and mortar—it is about humanity, support, and hope for those affected.
Every amount counts. Whether it's € 5.- or € 10.000.-, every donation helps to provide concrete support to the affected families in Israel. Please transfer your donation to the Schönstädt Loge account with the reference “Help for Bat Yam” to DE16 5007 0024 0287 5557 05 or donate via PayPal (information and link here).
Let us show together that Jewish solidarity knows no boundaries – neither geographically nor in our hearts.

More about this Project
The B'nai B'rith Frankfurt Schönstädt Loge e. V. is establishing a fund called “Fund of the B'nai B'rith Frankfurt Schönstädt Loge e.V. for the benefit of the residents of Bat Yam” (“the Fund”). This earmarked fund will be endowed with €30,000 to support low-income individuals.
Why Bat Yam?
Bat Yam is the poorest city in the Tel Aviv metropolitan area – it ranks fifth on the socioeconomic index and 147th among all municipalities in Israel. After a careful needs analysis and prioritization, the city administration decided that priority should be given to the Ramat Yosef neighborhood, one of the oldest and most socioeconomically disadvantaged neighborhoods.
Due to the massive explosive power and old buildings in the neighborhood, the Iranian missile attack on June 14, 2025, caused unprecedented destruction in the Israeli hinterland: damage over a large area, 75 residential buildings damaged, 22 of them severely – to the point of imminent collapse.
What is the purpose of the fund?
Since the Iranian attack, rents have risen significantly, creating a funding gap that many affected residents simply cannot bridge without this additional assistance. This fund serves as a safety net, supplementing government assistance and covering extended rent payments.
Who receives money from the fund?
Each eligible family receives support in accordance with the official state rental assistance scheme, proportional to their original rental conditions and rent amount – ensuring fair, needs-based distribution and compliance with national standards. The municipality appoints at least two officials who are jointly responsible for reviewing the allocation of funds and acting as contact persons.
How is the fund managed?
The lodge transfers the money to a bank account held by the municipality. The money is managed under a separate budget item with its own account (sub-account) that is exclusively designated for the fund. The municipality manages the fund responsibly and transparently and provides full reports on the use and impact of the funds.
Control of funds
For the purposes of this partnership, the designated contact person for the community is Ms. Zohar Kedar-Paz, Director of Partnerships and Philanthropy, Ralph Hofmann for the Frankfurt Lodge and Director Alan Schneider for the World Center Jerusalem. The community will only disburse funds to the beneficiaries after review and approval by B'nai B'rith Frankfurt Schönstädt Lodge e.V. and the World Center.
