SEMINARS

Seminars on various topics have been held in the rooms of our Lodge at regular intervals for several years. Topics were e.g. Jewish and Christian holidays - Silent Night the Christmas Eve. Especially on Christian holidays many progroms against Jews in the ghettos took place in the Middle Ages. Here the context of today's common expressions such as Silent Night was explained.

The Jews behaved "STILL" on this night - inconspicuously, so as not to incur the displeasure of the Christians. In 2007, our Lodge was the first partner Lodge of B'nai B'rith Europe to co-organize a Young Jewish Adult Forum for young Jewish adults.

The idea for this came from Ralph Hofmann, President of the Frankfurt Lodge and former President of B'nai B'rith Europa. For him it was so important to involve young people. Thus, on his initiative, the first forum of this kind took place in Frankfurt. 180 young people came together. Forums in Rome, Brussels, Zurich, Berlin and London followed.

In 2013, a seminar organized at the European level took place in the rooms of the Lodge. Young people from all over Europe came together and discussed the current situation. The Frankfurt Lodge has decided to continue these forums in a smaller form as seminars under its own direction.
