Symposium of the B'nai B'rith Frankfurt Schönstädt Lodge

On 28 August 2024, the symposium of the B'nai B'rith Frankfurt Schönstädt Lodge took place, an event that brought together members of the lodges from Europe and America. The day began with an impressive visit to the exile archive of the German National Library. Under expert guidance, the participants were given an insight into the treasures of the archive, which documents the eventful history of people who were forced to leave their homeland.

The collection impressively demonstrated the importance of preserving and remembering these stories for the collective memory.

After this inspiring tour, the members returned to the lodge at Liebigstraße 24, where a small snack was provided. In a cosy atmosphere, those present took the opportunity to talk about what they had experienced and to have initial discussions about the upcoming debates.

The afternoon was dedicated to the joint work of the lodges. In a lively round of discussions, the representatives of the various lodges presented their current projects and activities. Not only were successes celebrated, but challenges and future issues were also openly discussed.

Topics such as the promotion of tolerance, the strengthening of democratic values and the continuous support of educational projects were particularly focussed on. The members agreed that the work of the lodges will continue to be of great importance in the coming years in order to promote social cohesion and respond to current developments.

The successful day concluded with a festive lodge dinner, which brought the participants together in a friendly atmosphere. Lodge brothers and sisters, friends and members of other lodges enjoyed the meal together and took the opportunity to cultivate old friendships and make new contacts.

During the discussions, it became clear how important it is to exchange ideas and work together beyond the individual lodges in order to achieve common goals.

The symposium of the B'nai B'rith Frankfurt Schönstädt Lodge was therefore not only a day of remembrance and discussion, but also a sign of solidarity and a shared determination to continue making a positive contribution to society.
