B'nai B'rith is the oldest Jewish membership organization worldwide.
Founded 170 years ago by German-Jewish Immigrants in New York. Our mother organization, B'nai B'rith International is headquartered in Washington. B'nai B'rith Europe the largest district of B'nai B'rith International and is represented in 29
Countries. Our lodge was established on January 8 1888. The first president was Charles Hallgarten, a big philanthropist. Our lodge had a great reputation until our order was forbidden by the Nazis in 1938. Our members were very active and engaged in the well being of the Jewish People. In 1961 our lodge was re-founded.
Of course our duties have changed. But we have always followed our values. We work on an honouree basis. In the wider sense we are a charity organization.
